installation was a breeze. crimp two wires and screw the housing in. would buy again should i ever need to. the LEDs are bright and burn cold as opposed to the incandescent bulbs i use to burn myself on when leaning over the bow to strap the winch in.

At first glance one might wonder if this small light, barely 2 inches in diameter, would actually be visible over the required two nautical miles. But the LED array is quite bright and - without actual measurements - my guess is that the range is accurate. This is a small light and best used for smaller vessels. It is rock-solid and seems to be made well and likely waterproof to the extent the manufacturer claims. The wires are very small, but should be satisfactory when connected over a short distance since this is just a 12V accessory. I would caulk this to the deck to add additional leak protection. I cannot determine if the mounting screws are stainless, but I would probably replace them just to avoid the corrosion that occurs around salt water.

Last time I took my Reinell 200LSE out my grandkids said something fell off the boat. LOL....it was the old bowlight which the original was a 2 piece and the top fell into the lake, gone forever in 100 feet of water. I ordered this one and easily installed it. The screw heads broke off when screwing them into the boat and had to be replaced. They were cheap, but the light is really bright. Funny I replaced it and I have never been on the lake at night and never used the running lights. Never know though....better to have it and not use it than not have it and need it.
